Sahara has eight puppies! We have several exciting litters. Sahara took a break in her field work to have a litter. She has six males and two females. She was bred to Ch Set’r Ridge’s Pemberly Gold (a Hadji Dual Field and Show Ch Set’r Ridge’s Solid Gold CDX Master Hunter son) Sahara is a Show Champion and she needs six points to finish her Field Championship. Unfortunately we missed all of Spring Field Trial season due to her puppies. She will be back in the Field this summer and competing this fall.

We also have puppies out of Sahara’s father Ch Brasswinds Hot Topic bred to two Canaan daughters Ch Set’r Ridge’s White Light and Ch Set’r Ridge’s Intensity. Snowy Ch Set’r Ridge’s Impressive was bred to Darius Set’r Ridge’s Anticipation. Darius is our young male out of our Australian Import Aust Ch Bridgewood Time Again. This litter is all blue and tri as Darius is a homozygous blue. You can view these dogs and their pedigrees on our web site at www.englishsetter.com under show dogs, or under litters.

We also have a year and a half old liver male for sale. Liver is the rare color in English Setters, at least it is in the show English Setters.

For you Field Trial Enthusiast or hard core hunters, we have a litter of pointer puppies (English Pointers). The puppies are three and a half months old and doing awesome on their bird work. They will be ready for this falls hunting season. Their dam: Amateur National Field Champion Field Champion Set’r Ridge’s Natural High won the 2003 Pointer National Amateur Field Gun Dog Stake. She was runner up in 2004. She was also the number one pointer in the American Kennel Club (Field events) for 2004. Her sire and dam are both National Field Champions as well. This is a rare opportunity to get a great Field pointer. This is the only litter of Pointers that we have bred. They have awesome style on their birds.

My computer crashed a few months ago and I lost all of my data for the newsletter. So if your dog’s wins are not listed, please resend them to me. Also will you send me your email if you want to be in my address book. I lost that as well. These emails come straight off of the web site. They aren’t linked to my address book.

Obedience/ Agility
Raine Set’r Ridge’s Mirror Image (Shoebe x Jose) They just published the 2004 Novice obedience rankings in Front and Finish (an obedience magazine) and Raine is tied for 1st place as the number 1 English Setter in Novice obedience in the country. This
ranking is based on a point system where you get 10 points for a score of 200, 9 points for a199 and so on. (There is also another ranking based on how you place in a class and he is tied for 3rd place in that ranking- though he had 2 first places they were at small shows so he didn't beat that many dogs and even if he scored a 196 but didn't place he would get no points in this system).
Recently at an agility trial he earned his third open standard leg for his OA title with a clean run and a first place.
Raineman got his first open leg at the DOTC show at Howard County Out of 48 dogs in the class he was one of 13 who Qualified.

Best In Show Winners

Cody Ch Set’r Ridge’s Amazing Grace (Emanuel x Dani) won a Specialty Best In Show and an All Breed Best In Show, as well as several other Group I’s and Group placements. Paula Harris handled by Roger Kibbee and Kathy Grayson. United States

Aemon Am Aust Ch Chebaco Bridgewood Guard (Apostle x Chebaco) won his thirtieth Best In Show, and he is two years old. Darren Bowey Australia

Caleb Set’r Ridge’s Show Off (Fitz x Natanya) won the BIG-1 at the most important dog show in Russia Eurasia-2005, at the end of February. Bree Cimmeron Wild Temptation (out of Ch Set'r Ridge's Gold In Platinum) at the tender age of 6.5 mos went Best in Sweeps and Best Puppy at the Phoenix supported entry the day after the specialty in March. At the Mt Palomar she took the breed from the 6-9 mo class over mature open bitches and went on to a Group 2! Karen Brown
