This has been another busy month at Setter Ridge. Montana plays baseball, so that means either a baseball game or a practice five days a week for two and a half months. I love to watch his games. Micah is busy with 4-H and training her horse. Hunter is just busy.

We have several litters of puppies right now. We have blues, tris and oranges. We have puppies out of Hector, Emanuel, Joshua and Hadji. Some really neat puppies. Write if you would like more information about them.

There are new photos of Hector, Joshua, Emanuel and Sahara on the web site. They are out of order. When I get time, I will try to put them in order.


Best In Show

Shalom – Ch Set’r Ridge’s Spectacular (Canaan x Annie) won his second Best In Show April 17th under Steven Gladstone. This weekend Shalom won another Group III. Billy Ellis

Mo JO- Ch Sevenoaks Sorceress (Canaan x Phoenix) won her fifth Best In Show, and six straight Group 1’s in Canada. Mo Jo is the number one English Setter in Canada. Hilary Oakes


Aemon - Am Aus Ch Chebaco Bridgewood Guard (Apostle x )had another successful weekend, he went to 2 all breed shows and won best in show at both. He has now won 6 best in shows.

Prince- MBIS (Multi-Best in Show), BIS, BzCH (Brazilian Champion), BzGrCH (Brazilian Great-Champion), PanAmCH (Pan-America Champion), GrPanAmCH (Great Pan-America Champion), IntlCH (Internacional Champion) and now WCH (Word Champion) Noel’s Bayside Prince Of Gold (Canaan x Crystal) Best of Breed at the World Dog Show held in Brazil April 2004. Sahara- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Everlasting (Ben x Chloe) won Back to Back Specialty Best of Breed wins in Texas. Recently she showed at her second All Breed Show for the year and won a Group I and a Group III. Melissa Newman

Emanuel – Ch Set’r Ridge’s Gold In Platinum (Ben x Nadia) won winners dog at the LSESC Specialty for his third Five point Specialty win to finish his Championship. The next day at the second Specialty he won Best of Opposite over some beautiful specials. Melissa Newman


Sera – Set’r Ridge’s Heir To The Throne (Darcy x Sheba) won winners bitch three days this month for four more points. She has two Specialty majors as well. Melissa Newman

Trinity- Aerden’s Triple Blessing (Canaan x Meg) Winners Bitch and Best of Breed for another point towards her Championship. This weekend she won winners again. Laurie Mary Engel.


Fitz – Ch Set’r Ridge’s Pemberly Gold (Hadji x Aurora) won a nice breed win this weekend. Heather Lynn Lollis Janet Gray.


Autumn- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Autumn Skye(Preacher x Aurora) won a Group II this weekend. Dale and Summer Bennett.




Raleigh Set’r Ridge More Precious Than Gold (Zionx Mikayla )got a 4 point major at Old Dominion, Leesburg, VA. Raleigh was Winners Dog at Western Pennsylvania Kennel Association for one point at the end of March (March 28)Two points at Clairsville and then won Best of Winners at Bushy Run Kennel Club for another point on Friday (fourteen now). Raine- U-AG1 Set’r Ridge’s Mirror Image CD,NA,NAJ (Shoebe x Josie) Finished his Novice standard agility title with a first place. He gathered an extra novice standard leg with a second place. Thursday he got his second Novice Jumpers leg with a first place and Friday he got a Novice obedience leg at our ES specialty with a first place. He has 2 CD legs, 2 Novice jumpers legs, and 2 UKC AG1 legs. He got his last CD leg at Skyline KC today with a nice score of 192 and a FIRST place!!! Donna Richardson.


Marconi - Set'r Ridge Marc Antony (Canaan/True) won Winners Dog at the Yosemite Kennel Club on Saturday April 3, 2004. These are his first 2 points. Steven M. Huizenga

Conway - Bella Moon's Hello Darlin (Canaan x PD) was winners dog, best of winners, and BOB at Klamath Falls, OR May 8th and repeated it again the next day. Conway also placed 3rd in the Bred By Exhibitor Group. Conway is bred and owned by Rhonda Brookshier and Skip and Nancy Alexander and handled by Rhonda.

Wynnona - CreeksCrossing Wy Not Me (Canaan x PD) was winners bitch at Klamath Falls, OR both days. She also won WB, BW,BBE and on to BBE Sporting Group 1 at the Rogue Valley K. C. show at Merlin, Oregon May 15th. . Wynonna also went WB and BW the next day. Wynonna is bred and owned by Skip and Nancy Alexander and Rhonda Brookshier and handled by Skip. Wynonna also went WB and BW the next day.



Talia (CH Set'r Ridge's Intensity JH). (Canaan x Eve) won the Pre-Novice class at the Gold Country English Setter Fanciers Specialty. Then Rachel and Talia went over to the breed ring and won BEST JUNIOR and the Field Trial Bitch class! Rachel also handled her dog Feather (Fowlers' Roost Winchester Fthr CD JH NA NAJ) to her third leg in Open A to complete her CDX title! Not only did they win the class they also won HIGH IN TRIAL and High Scoring Veteran! Owner Handler Trainer Rachel Barnes



Abby- Ch Set’r Ridge’s XXIV Karat Gold II (Hadji x Tissa) Just got a notice from "Dogs in Canada" that Abby was the #1 English Setter in obedience in Canada in 2003! Rhonda Dillman



Samuel – Set’r Ridge’s Independence (Zion x Maggy) and Rose has win both1 Exc CaC( working class)Show ,Rose – Set’r Ridge’s Desert Rose (Zion x Desi)Best Female and best of breed,Samuel best male at the National of Terni
on1th May . The next week ( 7-9 May) at the Europa Sieger Show 2004 of Dortmund Rose win 1 exc VDH ( working class) and Samuel 2 Exc ris VDH .Barbara Gruzzi.

Cooper - Set’r Ridge’s Keep’n The Faith (Zion x maggy) won WD on Friday, May 21st, at Staten Island KC, under Mr. Charles Herendeen, for two points. Anne Pickrell.


Chase- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Smooth Operator (Canaan x Remi) Recently won two Best of Breeds and a Group II. Jamey Spowart.

Dakota – Set’r Ridge’s Amazing Grace (Emmanuel x Dani) now has 9 points from the puppy class. Including two Best of Breed wins. Handled by Kathy Grayson and Roger Kibbee. Paula Harris
