Summer 2002 Newsletter
08-31-2002
Hi Everybody,
I have so little time to correspond that Laura my wonderful Web designer has created a newsletter for me. If you don’t want to receive this newsletter every so often, please email me and let me know. Or if you know of anyone that would like to receive the newsletter, have them ad their name on our web site right on the front page. We have a brand new web site. If you see that I have made any mistakes on pedigrees or names, please let me know. My computor finally really did it and deleted all of my emails. So if you have written me recently, I don’t have any of the correspondence, please write to me again. I have had trouble with my email program for quite some time.
This has been a busy summer for our family. I thought that summer would be slower than the school year, but it has proved to be just as busy. We started with the National in Sturbridge Mass. I listed all of the wins on the web site under our last newsletter, if anyone wants to view them go to www.englishsetter.com Newsletters (National). We are pretty excited about Bria winning the National and Zion and Tequila winning Merits from the Field dog classes. By the way they are all sisters and brother. At the NEESC, the day after the National, Rachel Barnes showing Talia, Set’r Ridge’s Intensity won Best Jr Handler, you go girl!
Congrats to Natalia Robinson on her new American Champion S. African AM Ch Set’r Ridge’s Born Free. Whidbey finished with Billy Ellis expertly handling him in just a couple of weekends. Trystan went on to win Winners Dog and Best of Winners with Tracy for a nice Specialty major win. Trystan’s sister Set’r Ridge’s Aspen Gold owned and handled by Ingrid Clark has accumulated several points this summer. I just received a call from Jenny Wright who has borrowed Jonah for the summer. Jonah is also a littermate to Trystan and Aspen. They are all from the second repeat breeding of Teakoa. Jonah won a major and Best of Breed. Handled by Deanna Kidd. Jonah will be out East until Jenny comes to visit and brings him home in October.
In July, Zion , Ch Set’r Ridge’s Real Gold JH , ran in Master Hunter in the morning on Sauvie’s Island and passed, even though the shorthair stole his point and stole his retrieve. He held solid through all of that. The shorthair was finally picked up and Zion went on to have another nice point, retrieve, and honor. We flew from the Hunt Test to Kate’s house to give Zion a bath, we left Kate’s with an hour to spare to get to the show, where Kate’s bitch Wildline Set’r Ridge Scribble won winners Bitch, and Zion won Best of Breed and was pulled in the Group. I think it was in the 90’s. He never let down.
