“Bill Gates was named Set’r Ridge Tartan PowerPoint because I thought he had been bred to hunt as well as show. His genepool includes BISS & Master Hunter mom, Sahara, and dad, BISS Fitz, who Lynn Lollis told me never wants to come back into the kennel when he can bird hunt out in the big runs. Bill Gates turned out to be a natural in the field and his hunting instincts awed me early on when he was holding his points as a puppy with no training. He earned his first 3 legs toward his Junior Hunter title by 8 months old. We had to wait two more months to find another close Hunt Test and Bill Gates picked up his 4th and last leg at the ripe old age of 10 months in 4 consecutive outings, all ownerhandled. He truly is a PowerPoint-er in the field and loves the thrill of the hunt! Two pictures of Bill Gates in the field were showcased in the December 14th, 2007, article in DOG NEWS on English Setters by M.J. Nelson. With Bill Gates’ American, Canadian, International, and UKC titles, along with his Junior Hunter title, he epitomizes the beautiful, functional, affectionate, and sound (CHIC/Baer/OFA Hips & Elbows) English Setter gentleman with strong natural hunting instincts—he can bring home show ribbons and put quail on your table loving every minute of doing both.” |
