We had fun a the 2002 English Setter National

06-24-2002

The National started with a Hunting Test on Sunday the 9th. Zion ran in Master and passed. That was his second pass out of six needed for his Master Title. He also has earned nine points towards his Field Trial Championship including two Majors from the Open Gun Dog Stake. He needs one more point to finish, and then he will be a Dual Champion.

On Wednesday was the Futurity. Several Canaan Kidís placed in the classes including: Setír Ridge Aerden Sharp Dressed Man 3rd and , Aerdenís Bold As Brass 4th, in the 9 to 12 dog class , Pemberley Kiss It Goodbye 1st in the 12 to 18 class and, Sevenoaks Birchrun Desert Rain 1st in the 6 to 9 bitch class. Sahara, Setír Ridgeís Everlasting ( a double Hadji Granddaughter ) was 2nd in the 12 to 15 bitch class to the bitch that won the Futurity. Pemberley Kiss It Goodbye won Best of Opposite in the Futurity.

Thursday started the judging of the regular bitch classes. Devonshireís Destiny was 2nd in 6 to 9 ( she is sired by Ch Setír Ridgeís Messenger). Aerdenís Triple Blessing won 1st in the 9 to 12 bitch class. Sahara, Setír Ridgeís Everlasting won 1st in the 12 to 18 class over 40 bitches. Setír Ridgeís Vision (she won the Futurity in 2001) won 3rd place in the Bred By class. Setír Ridgeís Intensity placed 3rd and Setír Ridge Aerden Spice Girl 4th in the American Bred class.

Friday was the dog classes and then the Breed. Chebacoís Changing of The Guard ( Sired by Setír Ridgeís Masterpiece) placed 3rd in the 6 to 9 dog class. Setír Ridge Aerden Sharp Dressed Man placed 2nd and Aerdenís Bold as Brass 3rd in the 9 to 12 class. Setír Ridgeís Second Coming (Jonah a Canaan son) won the 12 to 18 dog class out of 35 dogs. Setír Ridgeís Masterpiece (also a Canaan son) placed 3rd in the Bred By dog class. Noelís Fine Talisman Gold ( a Hadji son) placed 2nd and Baysides Noel Waterspout (Canaan son) 3rd in the American Bred Dog Class. Laverstocks Hinton Savannah (Canaan son) placed 3rd in the Open Dog Class.

Zion, Ch Setír Ridgeís Real Gold JH won the Field Trial dog Class and went on to win an Award of Merit. Tequila, Ch Setír Ridgeís Monimar Quervo Gold won the Field Trail Bitch Class and went on to win an Award of Merit. Bria, Ch Setír Ridgeís Wydswept In Gold won Best of Breed over 356 English Setter entries. Five Award of Merits were given. To my knowledge, two Field dog entries have never won Awards of Merits before, and never have three dogs out of the same sire and dam been in three of the top seven final placings. Zion, Tequila, and Bria are all out of Hadji (Dual Ch Setír Ridgeís Solid Gold MH CDX HDX CGC and Tissa (Ch Kadonís Setír Ridge Tissa).

In addition Bria is the Number one Sporting Dog in the US right now. Go Kelly and Bria!!!!!
